Kirk integrates his design prowess with a multidisciplinary foundation in computer science, fine art, and social sciences from Sonoma State University. He was formally trained in design, graduating with distinction with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Interaction Design from California College of the Arts in San Francisco.

Mighty Buildings

Director of Brand and
Experience Design

At Mighty Buildings, a 3D printed housing construction company, I worked alongside executive leadership and creative teams, providing input to establish a transformative vision of the company mission, brand strategy and corporate identity.

I managed $500K marketing budget, guided prioritization, planning, and execution of a new corporate identity, brand strategy, messaging, and website.

Communicated with cross-functional teams across Design, Engineering, Business, and Operations to ensure the desirability, feasibility, accuracy, and viability of our new brand identity, strategy, messaging, and website.

Led initiative on defining a digital product portfolio strategy that would give Mighty Buildings an edge against the competition now and in the future.


Revl

Lead Product Designer

2016-2021

Responsible for end-to-end design of Revl’s entire A.I. video editing product line (B2C and B2B), from problem definition to implementation. Delivered final visual designs, wireframes, user journeys and made timely data-driven decisions through rapid iteration, experiments in the market, and learning through feedback from real customers. Collaborated with Executive and Engineering teams to bring multiple products to market.

Worked directly with Revl’s executive leadership and ML/software team to crate vision of their software ecosystem, guide development of A.I. algorithms and bring products to market. Communicated highly complex concepts and plans to a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.

Led a $2.1M joint venture with Audi to develop future use cases for how Revl cameras could integrate into the Audi vehicle and leverage A.I. to improve the driver experience, safety, and security.

Designed, implemented, and adapted digital design systems, data visualizations, on-brand visual design, illustrations, etc. Responsible for carrying out all marketing and communications projects, including marketing photos, videos, digital and printed sales materials, trade shows, etc.


Frog Design

Interaction Designer

At renowned design agency, Frog Design, I was an Interaction designer on a cross-functional team working on a client project (Revl). Carried out user research, product strategy, prototypes, interaction model, and wireframes. Sold product strategy to executive leadership and was hired by the client to build the mobile application.

Lead product strategist and experience designer on a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, and strategists, where we envisioned the digital and physical experience of a future public transportation system as a service concept, consisting of a shared network of hyper-connected autonomous vehicles.


Hylo

UX/UI Designer

2014

At Hylo, a community based social network, I collaborated with the executive leadership and engineering teams to plan, design, and develop Hylo’s core product and future features.
